Habitat Series: Landscape Design Workshop

Join Beau Lackey with Native Mississippi Studio for a presentation on garden design basics followed by a hands-on design session.

Time & Location

Sep 12, 2026, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Clinton Community Nature Center, 617 Dunton Rd, Clinton, MS

About the event

The presentation, lasting about one hour, will discuss fundamental design concepts including lines of sight, focal points, circulation, and the layering of plants, structure, and order. There will be a one hour lunch break following the presentation, and we suggest bringing a packed lunch to enjoy on our premises. After lunch, Beau will conduct a hands-on design session to help everyone create layouts for their own landscapes.

Participants should bring a pencil and ruler, or an engineer's scale if preferred. Please bring any photos of your landscape that will help Beau visualize your conditions and needs.

To participate, you must register. No walk-ins will be able to join this program, unfortunately.

This program is free for registered participants thanks to the Mississippi Outdoor Stewardship Trust Fund. We always appreciate donations!
