A CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!
From
laying the trails and installing trail signs, to working events and
assisting with summer camp, the Nature Center would not exist without our
volunteers. Virtually everything done to create the Center has been
accomplished by volunteer effort, with funds provided by memberships,
grants, and donations. More than 70 people volunteer each month to keep
Price Hall (the Center’s multipurpose building) open to the public. Now we
are asking you to join our team!
The
Clinton Nature Center is currently recruiting new Price Hall volunteers.
Price Hall houses a large classroom, gift shop, restrooms, and office. The
center is open free to the public every day of the year, with Price Hall
open from 9-5 PM Monday-Saturday and 1-5 PM on Sundays. There are three
shifts during the week and two on Sundays. Volunteer shifts are often quiet
(good book-reading and knitting environment) but sometimes full of school
children exploring the trails! Responsibilities include counting visitors
that come onto the grounds, answering the phone, manning the gift shop,
occasional administrative work, greeting Price Hall visitors and answering
any questions that they may have. Whether you can work one shift a month or
5 (or more!), we would love to have you as a part of our organization! Join
us in this urban forest, where people can enjoy, appreciate, and learn from
Nature in all its aspects.
Volunteers
determine their own schedule and can work on their own or with a partner.
We invite you to come walk the trails and experience our urban forest. If
you have an interest in joining our volunteer team, or have any questions,
please contact the Nature Center: 601.926.1104 or ccnaturecenter@gmail.com and you
will be put in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator, Vicki Derrick.
