Thursday, January 19, 2012, 7:00p.m. - Third Thursday Nature Lecture
Dr. Bill Stark presents Life Styles of Assassin Bugs. Stark, Sadler Professor of Biology at Mississippi College, will present an illustrated talk on assassin bugs and other heteropterans. Assassin Bugs are predaceous insects classified in the family Reduviidae. Most members of the group feed on other insects with their piercing mouthparts, but a few, like the notorious "Kissing Bug" feed on the blood of humans and other vertebrates. In this presentation, the diversity of local Assassin Bugs and other members of the True Bug group will be explored.

Membership will receive an annual report and elect new members to the Board of Trustees. The Board will then elect officers for the year, adopt the budget and address other items of business as required.
