First Annual Deck the Trails Christmas Celebration
The Clinton Community Nature Center will be holding its First Annual Deck the Trails Christmas Celebration every night from Dec. 7-23, 2013. Festivities will begin on the day of the Clinton Christmas Parade, December 7, at 5:30 p.m. Gates will open at 5 p.m. when guests can view the decorations in Price Hall, the nativity scene or visit the concession area before the choreographed musical light shows begin playing in 30-minute intervals, starting at 5:30 p.m. The light shows will be in the Nature Center’s outdoor amphitheater and are sponsored by Greg Ingram, CPA. The light show is $2 per person for ages 3 and up. Concessions will be available for purchase inside of Price Hall, including hot apple cider, hot cocoa, and baked holiday treats. In addition to the nightly musical light shows, Santa will be making special appearances on each Saturday of the event (Dec. 7, 14, & 21) from 5:00-8:00 pm. Guests are invited to get their photos made with Santa for $5 per photo. The Nature Center is located at 617 Dunton Road in Clinton, MS. For questions or additional information please call 601-926-1104.
The Clinton Community Nature Center (CCNC) exists as a place for you to enjoy and learn about nature in all its aspects. CCNC consists of 33 acres of woodlands near Olde Towne Clinton and is open to the public without charge. Currently, we operate ten programs providing education and information about nature, gardening, and the history of this unique place. In addition to formal programs, CCNC maintains 2.5 miles of all weather walking trails with plants and historic sites labeled and benches where one may sit in solitude and appreciate nature. Thousands of visitors pass through our gates to enjoy the wonder and the beauty of these natural surroundings.
We are dependent on memberships, gifts, grants, and fund raisers for support. We have one part-time employee, and a team of loyal and hard-working volunteers. We invite you to participate in any or all of the programs, become a CCNC member, or make a contribution, but more importantly, we invite you to come and enjoy the beauty and solitude of this marvelous place.
